All Accredited Organizations – The Commission on Accreditation (COA) is pleased to announce that the following changes may be implemented immediately for the following accreditation requirements: 
 
The COA will permit the following content to be eligible for awarding ANCC contact hours: 
Content that is provided through in-service and/or staff development activities. 
All content in courses that are repeated on a regular basis for all learners. 
Basic Life Support (BLS) courses for all learners. 
Note: The current definition of CNE activities has not been revised, and the requirements for planning educational activities have not changed. 
 
The COA has eliminated the requirement for the non-endorsement disclosure statement. 
 
The COA has eliminated the requirement for use of the ANCC Accreditation statement (or applicable approval statement for Approved Providers and Individual Activity Applicants) on all communications and marketing materials.

All Accredited Organizations – In alignment with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), the ANCC Accreditation Program will no longer permit organizations that are owned and/or controlled by a parent organization that is classified as a commercial interest to be eligible for accreditation. 
Currently accredited organizations that have a commercial interest parent organization will have two years to restructure. As of January 1, 2015, Provider Units with commercial interest parent organizations that have not restructured will lose their accreditation.

Modification to disclosure of requirements for successful completion: The requirement to disclose both goals (purposes) and objectives in Disclosure of Requirements for Successful Completion has been revised. The required disclosure has been modified to read purposeand/or objectives. January 1, 2012

All Accredited Organizations – Removal of target audience representative on planning committee January 1, 2011
Accredited Providers – Designated Nurse Planner requires minimum of a baccalaureate degree or higher in nursing (no change in requirements for the Lead Nurse Planner) January 1, 2011
All Accredited Organizations – Commercial interest organizations no longer eligible for accreditation July 31, 2010
Multi-regional Providers – If approval expires after September 1, 2010 Approval expires on the date as currently
indicated for the approved period
